Lindsay Almon “Boy” Smith, 79, was born Nov. 29, 1943 in Jacksboro, and peacefully passed away Thursday, Oct. 5 in Belton.

Lindsay has resided in Rice for 47 years. Lindsay is preceded in death by his parents, Almon Smith and Lavesta Mae Epps Smith; brother, Roscoe; and sister, Urelda Barnett.

Lindsay is survived by his wife, Anna (Ann) Smith of Rice; two sons, Cody Smith and wife Dani of Belton, and Ty Smith of Frost; and grandson, Autry Ty Smith.

Lindsay is also survived by sister, Shann Traylor and husband William of Belton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lindsay was a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War. He never let his injuries keep him from working hard for his family. Lindsay was a retired welder and gunsmith. He was a graduate from the Trinidad Colorado School of Gunsmiths. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed bull riding, hunting, and getting together with family and friends. We have lost the most hardiest man there ever was, he could fix and build anything.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Lonestar Cowboy Church of Navarro County in Corsicana, with Charky Marquis and Russell Reed officiating. Visitation was held from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Burial will be at the Roberts Branch Cemetery in Jacksboro at a later date.
