Sept. 5, 1940– Dec. 2,2023

Susan Irene Beaman was born Thursday, Sept. 5, 1940 to Willie and Patricia Berry.

Born the middle of three, Susan loved to live up to the middle child personality with her big heart, and bigger attitude. In her 83 years, there wasn’t much she backed down from. Susan married the love of her life, Frank after meeting him at the local Root Beer stand and being impressed with his car. The rest was history. They were married May 10, 1956.

Susan thrived as a homemaker throughout most of her life, her pride and joy being her family. From her world famous spaghetti, to enchilada casserole, she had the meal for you! Susan served as an army wife for more than 30 years, an honor she cherished and took seriously. Susan was a valued member of the Methodist community for a long time, often volunteering to help with Vacation Bible School and other Children’s Ministries.

In 1991, Susan lead the charge and helped send tens of thousands of laminated cards with Psalm 91 printed on them to troops serving in Desert Storm and the Gulf War. Her efforts were recognized by General Norman Schwarzkopf.

Susan was known to many beyond just her grandkids as Granny, a title she wore proudly. Becoming a granny for the first time in 1986, Susan was a granny to seven, great granny to (almost) eight, and honorary granny to all who loved her.

Don’t let the grandkids fool you, her heart had plenty of room for more. Anytime you visited Granny’s house you could be sure to be greeted by a 4-legged fluff ball. Mitzy, Lady, Pepper, Maynard, Buster, Snookie, Molly, and Lily, just to name a few her and Frank shared in their 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.

Susan was reunited with her husband, Frank, on the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 2, while surrounded by her family, and her littlest love, Lily. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Susan was preceded in death by her parents, and older sister Gloria Wright.

Those left to celebrate her life include her brother, Bill Berry of Mineral Wells; her oldest son, Frank Beaman Jr, and wife Terri of Graham, and their four children, Kristin and Ben McKay of Edmond Oklahoma, and their two children, Remington and Maverick; Frank L (Lane) Beaman III and wife Rachel of Abilene and son Henry; Natalie and Josh Kleinman of Kona, Hawaii, and daughter Nora and (Owen due 1/6/24); and Jakob Beaman of Midland. Her younger son, Michael Beaman and his wife Rhonda of Odessa and their three children, Amanda and Josh Provence of Odessa and, their three children, Brooke, Bryson and Stetson; Keeghan and Deanna Beaman of Odessa; and Khaiden Beaman of Odessa.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at Indian Creek Baptist Church. Internment immediately following at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells.
